Who was Joseph and why are we called: The Joseph Movement

We chose the name, “The Joseph Movement”, as Joseph was the first Human Trafficking victim mentioned in the Bible. Our logo depicts this with a hand pulling someone out of a dark pit.

Here is a Short Synopsis: (Based on a True Story)

First, his brothers wanted to kill him by throwing him into a pit, but one of the brothers persuaded the others to rather sell Joseph to the Midianite Merchants. They took Joseph out of the pit and sold him for 20 silver pieces.  The Midianites then sold Joseph to Potiphar in Egypt.

When Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce him, he ran away but her lies about the situation, landed him in prison.  He lived in the dungeon but held on to God’s promises.

Eventually, through his relationship with God, he could lay out a dream for Pharaoh, which got him out of jail – out of darkness. Pharaoh was so impressed that he not only freed Joseph, but also gave him a prominent position in Egypt.

Genesis 41:40-41

“You shall have charge over my (Pharaoh) house, and all my people shall be governed according to your word [with reverence, submission, and obedience]. Only in matters of the throne will I (Pharaoh) be greater than you are. Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”

Joseph Escaped Slavery and Lived in Freedom.

Eventually Joseph was reunited with his family and died a rich & wealthy man, with descendants who still walk this earth today. (Read his full bio in The Bible: Genesis 37 to 41)

With God – all things are possible. God sent a prophetic promise:

“Africa, you will be saved.”

“Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all else will be added to you.”

If you are being Trafficked, there is hope.
